Our History
Abilitie has its roots at Harvard Business School, where the company’s founders worked with their professors to create some of Harvard’s first interactive online simulations in the early 2000s. Building on those roots, Abilitie has grown to become a recognized brand in corporate leadership development and has taught over 100,000 employees at companies all over the world since it spun out of custom e-learning provider Enspire Learning in 2015.

Dr. Carol Shuherk
Dr. Carol Shuherk is a member of the MBA faculty at the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School and created its Management Communication Program. Prior to joining the Simon faculty, she was the University of Rochester’s Senior Associate Provost. Before joining the University of Rochester, Carol was an inside consultant to the Los Angeles Times for eight years, establishing the Times’ Newspaper Management Institute for mid-career managers.

Steve Gartrell
Steve Gartrell is in high demand around the globe as a facilitator of leadership and finance skills training sessions. Steve has a 15-year track record of international facilitation success with leaders in more than 200 corporations, spanning 20 countries on five continents and across the US and Canada. Totaling over 12,000 training hours, he has conducted hundreds of high-impact sessions, both in person and online. Steve previously spent 19 years with ExxonMobil in a variety of leadership positions in marketing, operations, project management, internal auditing, and accounting.

Bobby Bakshi
Bobby Bakshi is an independent consultant with 30 years of experience serving in leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies. Now focused on leadership development workshop facilitation, executive coaching, and people and culture strategy, Bobby works with senior leaders to increase the potential of people and company culture with a focus around increasing intrinsic motivation at all levels of an organization. Bobby was born in India and grew up globally. He holds an MBA from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor of Commerce from Bombay University (India).

Valérie Scheer
Valérie Scheer is fueled by her passion to develop people. Prior to co-founding AS Partners, a consulting firm that helps clients transform their vision into tangible results through strategic direction and support in building necessary teams and capabilities, Valérie worked at McKinsey & Company designing and leading training. Valerie has lived in Europe, Africa, the US, and the Middle East, and she earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Business Administration from Ingolstadt University.

Vaishali Jadhav
Vaishali Jadhav works at the intersection of leadership and technology. Currently the Leadership Development Instructor for the Kendra Scott Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute, Vaishali is focused on building the next generation of future leaders. Driven in the development of purpose-driven leaders for purpose-driven companies, Vaishali has worked for Gallup Organization and the Whole Foods Market’s Academy for Conscious Leadership – an immersive leadership program designed to help leaders cultivate the tenets of conscious capitalism. Vaishali holds an MBA from Rice University and a BA from the University of Texas at Austin.

James Gutierrez
James Gutierrez is a business leader with a global focus. After being honored Fulbright Scholar in Uruguay and working in the Executive Office of the President at the White House, James’ career path led him to Fullbridge, a global education company, and Verge Fund, an early and growth-stage high-tech Venture Capital firm. Now, as the Founding Partner of Slate Inc., a people development and executive consulting firm, James helps growth-oriented professionals and organizations drive measurable results. James holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Masters of Public Policy from Harvard University.

Angie Bealko
Angie Bealko’s passion for education has guided her career and ultimately led her to launch Brighthouse Education, a strategic consulting firm focused on improving educational outcomes for economically disadvantaged students. In her prior work leading the KLE Foundation’s Quality Schools Austin initiative, Angie managed grant programs focused on increasing computer science pathways, innovative blended learning models, and college access and persistence programs. Previously, Angie worked for Dell Technologies, Avaya, Syndify, and ViaTech. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in engineering (EE/MechE) from California Institute of Technology.

Nick White
Nick White has over 20 years of experience as a business learning professional specializing in the development and delivery of financial learning events. Prior to becoming a business trainer, he spent nine years working in various industries and held finance and IT positions in the UK and Germany for Reuters, Abbott Laboratories, and De La Rue. He holds a BA (Hons) in engineering science from the University of Oxford, and in his early career, he qualified as a chartered accountant with Binder Hamlyn in London.

Paul Kirkitelos
Paul Kirkitelos was previously a consultant at McKinsey & Company with a focus on corporate finance. Paul has also served in an advisory capacity for a number of early-stage companies around the globe, and his extensive travel experience has helped feed his interest in understanding the differences and similarities between cultures throughout the world. Paul holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Virginia and is a former research fellow with NASA’s Laboratory for Extraterrestrial Physics.

Rohit Shyam
Rohit Shyam is an expert facilitator and coach who delights in helping his audience connect the dots so they can embark on a true transformation. Rohit’s years of experience as a facilitator, learning experience designer, team leader, and account manager for global Fortune 500 companies have made him particularly adept in learning experiences about strategy, business, and financial acumen. Rohit holds an MBA from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from University of Maryland.

Prior to his time at milk + honey, Shon was Vice President of Marketing at Enspire Learning and held various leadership roles at The Princeton Review. Shon holds a BS in material science from the University of California at Berkeley.
