Abilitie offers leadership training certification options for client-internal facilitation teams and partners who want to join our global faculty.

Abilitie’s Certification Process

Becoming certified in Abilitie’s world-renowned simulations is an investment in your future as an educator. Unlike other leadership training certifications, ours offers one-on-one coaching that allows you to learn as the participants do — through hands-on experience under the expert guidance of a Principal Facilitator.

The Process

Being an Abilitie certified facilitator requires a unique skill set. Our simulations are not simple exercises where script memorization through traditional rote methods will set you up for success — that’s what makes our simulations first-in-class! Have a high degree of comfort with technology and managing new technology tools

Are able to quickly analyze complex simulation data and relay them in easy-to-understand terms

Are comfortable with Socratic-style debriefs that flex to the audience’s needs and incorporate unexpected simulation results

A leadership training certification program

The Certification Process

1) Kickoff Call

3 Hours

Get oriented to the simulation and certification materials and gain access to practice asynchronously in the simulation environment.

2) Self-Study

10 to 12 hours of self-study

Study the simulation materials, including a comprehensive manual and videos of Principle Facilitators in action, and practice in the simulation.

3) Coaching

9 Hours of live practice session(s)

Work with an Abilitie Principle Facilitator to answer your questions, share best practices, and hone your facilitation and virtual delivery skills.

We recommend a two-week certification schedule starting with a Kickoff Call and closing with the hands-on Coaching session(s). But we know flexibility is key for learning. Kickoff Call

3-Hour Call with Abilitie

On this introductory call, you will receive a high-level overview of Abilitie’s systems, the structure of the leadership training certification process, and experience the simulation as a participant in preparation for your asynchronous study.

Self Study

10 to 12 Hours of Self-Study

4 to 5 hours reading the simulation manual, slides, agendas, and watching video recordings

4 to 5 hours practicing actions in the simulation as a participant

2 hours of exercises and knowledge checks

Coaching

8 Hours of Live Practice Session(s)

Your practice time with a Principle Facilitator is structured to your needs. It includes a review of the materials from self-study, as well as instruction on how to effectively debrief the lessons made visceral through the simulation experience.

Our standard certification is offered at $6,500. For facilitators who join our global faculty, we cover this cost and offset it with discounts on your first program deliveries for us.

If you are already certified in one of Abilitie’s solutions and would like to expand to other solutions or become re-certified, we offer shortened certification programs without Principle Facilitator coaching for $1,500.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the qualifications needed to go through the certification program?

Abilitie works interactively with our clients to identify the right internal individuals to teach an Abilitie program. At the highest level, an ideal candidate is a dynamic speaker with a Socratic teaching style, subject matter expertise in leadership and business acumen, and 5+ years of teaching experience in the corporate classroom.

What is the teach-back component?

We will build upon your current facilitation expertise, honing your skills to elevate your future participants’ simulation experience. This will include teaching components of the simulation, practicing debriefs, and receiving feedback from the Principle Facilitator during those 8 hours.

Will there be a test associated to earn the certification ‘badge’ or title?

There is no official test associated with this certification. However, in order to become officially certified and be able to display the badge on your LinkedIn page, the Principle Facilitator will have to “sign-off” on the fact that you are: (1) well-versed in the simulation technology, (2) comfortable with the complexities of the competition, and (3) able to deliver Socratic debriefs that do not follow a linear script and bring the learning objectives to life. Should there be challenges, we will work with you to figure out how we can accomplish the goal of certification together.

How long does the certification last?

The certification requires you to lead at least two simulation sessions and to attend a half-day faculty recertification workshop each year. As long as you attend this workshop, your certification will not expire.
